Job summary

University of California - Los Angeles Health is seeking a Medical Scribe for the Santa Monica Ophthalmology clinic. You will document patient-physician interactions during exams and keep the physician moving in the office.

The position is per diem, as-needed with potential for career conversion. Expected schedule is Thursdays and Fridays 8am–5pm, supporting chart preparation and medical record accuracy with EMR systems.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform under the pressure of frequent interruptions and distractions.
• Strong proofreading and attention to detail for medical records.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Ability to follow through on assignments with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Document patient-physician interactions during examinations.
• Prepare electronic charts for upcoming patients (new and established).
• Review patient records and charts for accuracy.
• Review After Visit Summary with patients and provide educational materials.
• Review the provider's schedule to support operations.
• Assist with general administrative tasks when not scribing.
