• Send/receive patient records per HIPAA and other state/federal regulations.
• Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information; schedule appointments; verify insurance and patient demographics; manage charts.
• Prepare and maintain patient rooms; ensure infection control; manage inventory of supplies.
• Assist patients with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam; relay instructions to patients/families.
• Answer calls and provide patient education as directed.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs; assist physicians with procedures; document in the medical record.
• Comply with OSHA/CLIA/Pa Department of Health; maintain confidentiality; follow UP(M)C Health System policies.
• Under supervision, administer injectable medications and vaccines when appropriate.
