Hillsboro Eye Clinic, Pc in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a dependable ophthalmic technician to join our long-serving practice. Training is available for the right candidate, with emphasis on accurate patient history and detailed testing.

The role includes performing visual acuity, refraction, tonometry, OCT, fields, photography, and more while maintaining smooth patient flow and teamwork in a busy clinic. Bilingual skills and a positive attitude are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in ophthalmic settings is helpful, but willing to train the right applicant.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to multitask and maintain patient flow during eye exams.
• Strong computer literacy and typing ability.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Address patients with the level of respect and professionalism required by this practice.
• Obtain patient history including chief complaint, history of present illness, past ocular/general history, allergies and medications.
• Perform documentation and measurements: visual acuity, lensometry, confrontational fields, refraction, stereo testing, motility, pupillary tests, color plates, tonometry, OCT, photography.
• Maintain efficient patient flow through each step of the patient work-up and testing.
• Maintain stock levels and cleanliness of exam lanes; assist with eye exams and procedures.
• Seek guidance from senior staff as necessary and never perform beyond capabilities.
• Perform other duties as required.
