Job summary

ReFocus Eye Health in Hamden, Connecticut is looking for a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to enhance patient care within our multi-specialty team. In this role, you'll work closely with ophthalmologists, conduct important tests, and assist in surgical procedures, all while ensuring efficient patient flow.

The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and passionate about improving lives through exceptional eye care. Up to 40 hours per week with potential travel required to local practices.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information.
  • Conduct thorough preliminary examinations including visual acuity and pupillary responses.
  • Administer diagnostic tests such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
  • Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries and laser procedures.
  • Manage patient flow in the clinic and imaging rooms effectively.
  • Administer eye drops (Certification Required).
  • Perform clinical and administrative tasks to ensure organized workflow.

Your Impact
  • Elevate patient care: Work closely with our ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
  • Master ophthalmic testing: Conduct thorough preliminary examinations, including visual acuity, pupillary responses, and more.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics: Administer a range of diagnostic tests, such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
  • Assist in surgical procedures: Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
  • Streamline patient flow: Efficiently manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborating with clinical staff.
  • Administer eye drops: (Certification Required)
  • Contribute to clinic efficiency: Perform clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and organized workflow.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
