Job summary

Harborview Eye Institute in Seattle seeks an Ophthalmic Technician 2 for per diem day shifts on the acute care rapid team. This role supports complex eye exams and imaging to assist physicians in rapid care settings.

Requirements include completion of an approved ophthalmic technician program with at least one year of experience and certification such as Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or equivalent. The position is on-site and per diem.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved ophthalmic technician program and one year of experience.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or equivalent certification/education.
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications where allowed by law.

Responsibilities

• Assist and/or perform complex clinical diagnostic eye examinations and procedures as delegated by the ophthalmology team.
• Complete ophthalmic imaging tests such as A-scan, tonometry, and visual field testing.
• Perform imaging and procedures within certification scope; assist with patient intake and administer topical medications.
• Demonstrate proactive, professional communication across the department to support smooth workflow and positive departmental representation.
