Job summary

Midwest Vision Partners, LLC is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support patient care in a clinic setting. You will greet patients, escort them to exam rooms, and perform diagnostic tests such as visual acuity, tonometry, and lensometry before the physician sees them.

Responsibilities include documenting patient information in EMR, maintaining the clinic environment, and assisting with minor procedures. A high school diploma or GED is required, and some EMR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • EMR experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and explain what to expect during the appointment.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and perform diagnostic tests prior to physician evaluation.
  • Record all notes and updates in the patient chart/records accurately.
  • Maintain clinic environment and sterilization procedures.
  • Conduct ophthalmic tests (visual acuity, tonometry, lensometry).
  • Apply eye drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes.
  • Assist with minor surgery procedures, intraocular injections and laser treatments.
  • Educate patients on medication administration and pre/post-operative care.
  • Readily scribe for physicians and ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Secure patient information and maintain confidentiality of medical records.
