Job summary

EyeSouth Partners seeks an Ophthalmic technician for a high-volume North Florida practice. The role requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, and independent decision-making with travel to multiple locations.

The technician will perform refractions, imaging (OCT/Topography), tonometry, EMR data entry, and pre/post-operative duties while supporting compassionate patient care and confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years ophthalmic technician experience preferred.
  • COA preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel to multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Enter data into EMR and provide patient services.
  • Perform pre-operative preparation of patients.
  • Maintain equipment and instruments used in exams.
  • Obtain ocular imaging including OCT and Topography.
  • Deliver post-operative education and eye drop administration.

We are now hiring for an Ophthalmic technician that will support a high-volume ophthalmic practice that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care to each patient needing complete eye care services.

This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.

Ophthalmic skills include
  • Obtaining and documenting patient history
  • Determining visual acuity
  • Performing automated and manual refraction for diagnostic purposes
  • Performing basic lensometry
  • Pupillary assessment
  • Visual field testing
  • PAM
  • Basic ocular motility assessment
  • Automated keratometry
  • Osmolarity testing
  • Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by physician
  • Performing office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMR, providing patient services
  • Measurement of intraocular pressure (tonometry)
  • Pre-operative preparation of patient
  • Maintaining equipment and instruments
  • Perform ocular imaging including OCT,
  • Topography
  • Post-operative education
  • 3-5 years of ophthalmic technician experience preferred
  • COA preferred
  • Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required
  • Must be flexible with traveling to various locations
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable
  • The ability to recognize inconsistencies
