Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin seeks a 30-hour-per-week Ophthalmology support role to prepare exam rooms, assist physicians, and handle patient histories. The position starts with no required experience and offers training in BLS within six months.

Strong communication and attention to detail are essential as is proficiency with EMR systems. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Friday 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM with some Saturday rotation per year.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate.
• No experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and prepares exam rooms and work areas, including cleaning, stocking supplies, and equipment.
• Prepares patient for exam and assists ophthalmologist.
• Records ocular and medical history, medications, and chief complaint.
• Documents and communicates information about patient condition accurately and timely.
• Performs basic diagnostic tests and visual screenings (e.g., visual acuity, tonometry, keratometry).
• Assists with ordering and dispensing glasses and contact lenses.
