Job summary

Central Florida Eye Specialists is seeking an ophthalmic technician to support physicians by collecting data on ocular health, performing clinical tests, and documenting in electronic medical records.

The role requires attention to detail, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment; Nextech/ICP experience is strongly preferred, with opportunities to contribute to patient education and streamline exam workflows.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; related experience preferred.
• Ophthalmic/optometric technician experience preferred.
• Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Perform testing ordered by physician based on exam type and patient history.
• Enter data into EMR; act as medical scribe when needed.
• Record ocular and systemic history and visual acuity.
• Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications under physician direction.
• Assist with in-office procedures and obtain informed consent.
• Educate patients and maintain exam room cleanliness.
• Comply with procedures and state/federal regulations.
• Report inventory and supply needs; participate in team huddles.
