Eye Site of Tampa Bay in Clearwater, FL is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join a fast-paced eye care team. The ideal candidate has 1+ year of experience, strong customer service, and a collaborative attitude.

You will assist providers, perform tests (AR, OCT, HVF, topography, IOL Master, tonometry), manage patient workups, document history accurately, and help maintain efficient workflow across two offices (Clearwater and Trinity).

Qualifications

1+ year as ophthalmic technician.
High school diploma required.
Experience with EHR systems preferred (Nextech/IntelleChart).

Responsibilities

Assist providers by preparing patients for examination with excellent customer service.
Perform tests ordered by provider (AR, OCT, HVF, Corneal Topography, IOL Master, ECC, tonometry).
Conduct patient work-up based on history and chief complaint.
Communicate with patients and record history accurately.
Review past records and ensure needed records are available for review.
Perform baseline refractions using Phoropter/Marco.
Ensure authorizations/referrals are in place if additional testing is required.
Maintain workflow by seeing 4-6 patients per hour.
Prepare exam room, sterilize, assist patients, and anticipate provider needs.
Maintain confidentiality at all times.
