Eye Specialists of Mid-Florida in Clermont, FL is seeking an Optometric Technician to provide high quality patient care, perform ophthalmic testing and support clinical staff. Training will cover case history documentation, testing procedures, and patient communication.

The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality per HIPAA, and teamwork in a fast-paced eye care practice. This is a full-time position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of optometric experience (not a must).
• Must complete the home study ophthalmic program within six months of employment.
• JCAHPO COA Certification required within 18 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Consistently performs documentation of case history, visual fields, pupil evaluation, and other clinical tests as directed.
• Obtains eyeglass prescription via lensometer.
• Performs patient testing such as Slit Lamp, Visual Fields, Tonometry, OCT, Fundus Photos.
• Assists physicians with injections and other duties as needed.
• Ensures patient testing is prioritized and communicated clearly to patients.
