EyeSouth Partners’ Kentucky Eye Institute is seeking an ophthalmic technician to support ophthalmologists and optometrists. You will perform clinical tests, document patient ocular health data, and assist with education and in-office procedures.

Ideal candidates have Nextech/ICP experience, ophthalmic/optometric technician background, and strong communication in a fast-paced clinic setting. Equal opportunity employer with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or the equivalent years related experience preferred.
• Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.
• Ophthalmic and/or optometric technician experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Aufgaben

• Assist ophthalmologist and optometrists by gathering data on ocular health status.
• Perform tests ordered by doctor, based on exam type, patient history or complaints.
• Act as a medical scribe, entering data into electronic medical records.
• Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications under physician direction.
• Assist with simple in-office procedures and ensure informed consent.
• Assist with patient education and maintain exam room cleanliness.
• Report inventory and supply needs to leadership for ordering.
• Participate in daily team huddles and scheduled meetings.
