Job summary

EyeSouth Partners' Florida Eye Microsurgical Institute in Boynton Beach is seeking an ophthalmic technician to support physicians and optometrists. You will gather ocular health data, perform tests, and document findings in the electronic medical record.

Responsibilities include reviewing charts, administering topical medications, assisting with procedures, education, and maintaining orderly exam rooms. A high school diploma and Nextech/ICP experience are preferred; ophthalmic technician

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent years related experience preferred.
• Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.
• Ophthalmic and/or optometric technician experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Review patient chart to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Perform testing ordered by doctor and determined by exam type and history.
• Act as a medical scribe entering data into electronic medical records.
• Take ocular and systemic history and accurately record visual acuity.
• Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications under physician direction.
• Assist with simple in-office procedures and obtain informed consent.
• Assist with patient education.
• Maintain clean and orderly exam rooms during the workday.
• Report inventory and supply needs to leadership for timely ordering.
• Participate in daily team huddles and required meetings.
