Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners in Tysons, VA is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team. Training is provided to help you grow your career in eye care.

You will assist providers with diagnostic tests, manage patient histories, and support eye care procedures using Humphrey, OCT, and tonometry. A high school diploma or GED and prior medical field experience are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the medical field in roles such as a medical assistant, medical scribe, patient care technician, nursing assistant, pharmacy technician etc.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and verify information
• Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as appliance tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy
• Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements
• Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient\'s visual acuity and other vision issues
• Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam
• Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications
• Explain how to properly use contact lenses
• Assist with inventory management

We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team. Our ideal candidate would have medical experience and passion for patient care. We are willing to provide on-the-job training and experience to the right candidate as they work towards a career path of an ophthalmic technician or scribe. In this role, your primary tasks are to assist the providers with diagnostic and treatment-oriented procedures and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

What You Will Bring:

• Previous experience in the medical field in roles such as a medical assistant, medical scribe, patient care technician, nursing assistant, pharmacy technician etc.
• Experience with EMR tools
• Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word)
• Experience working as an ophthalmic technician or scribe is a plus
