Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners seeks an Ophthalmic Technician I to support our patient care team with diagnostic and administrative tasks. You will assist providers with eye exams and measurements, performing tests and maintaining supplies.

The role offers on-the-job training, opportunities for growth, and a culture focused on patient outcomes and quality care. High school diploma required; prior medical experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in the medical field preferred.
  • Experience with EMR tools desirable.
  • Proficiency with MS Office expected.

Responsibilities

  • Take medical histories and verify information.
  • Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy.
  • Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements.
  • Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other vision issues.
  • Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam.
  • Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications.
  • Explain how to properly use contact lenses.
  • Assist with inventory management.

Ophthalmic Technician I

We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team. Our ideal candidate would have medical experience and passion for patient care. We are willing to provide on-the-job training and experience to the right candidate as they work towards a career path of an ophthalmic technician or scribe. In this role, your primary tasks are to assist the providers with diagnostic and treatment-oriented procedures and administrative tasks.


Responsibilities

What You Will Do


  • Take medical histories and verify information

  • Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy

  • Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements

  • Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other vision issues

  • Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam

  • Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications

  • Explain how to properly use contact lenses

  • Assist with inventory management


Qualifications

What You Will Bring


  • High school diploma or GED certificate

  • Previous experience in the medical field in roles such as a medical assistant, medical scribe, patient care technician, nursing assistant, pharmacy technician etc.

  • Experience with EMR tools

  • Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word)

  • Experience working as an ophthalmic technician or scribe is a plus
