Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners in the United States seeks an Ophthalmic Technician I to support providers with diagnostic procedures and administrative tasks. We offer on-the-job training and a career path toward becoming an ophthalmic technician or scribe.

You will perform eye tests, take histories, and help with inventory while assisting clinicians with patient care in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience in the medical field (medical assistant, scribe, PCT, CNA, pharmacy tech, etc.)
• Experience with EMR tools
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Experience as ophthalmic technician or scribe is a plus

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and verify information
• Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy
• Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements
• Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient\'s visual acuity and other vision issues
• Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam
• Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications
• Explain how to properly use contact lenses
• Assist with inventory management

We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team. Our ideal candidate would have medical experience and passion for patient care. We are willing to provide on-the-job training and experience to the right candidate as they work towards a career path of an ophthalmic technician or scribe. In this role, your primary tasks are to assist the providers with diagnostic and treatment-oriented procedures and administrative tasks.

• Experience working as an ophthalmic technician or scribe is a plus
