Job summary

SightMD is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support physicians across our multi-location ophthalmic group. You will perform a range of administrative and clinical duties, from patient intake and pre-exam testing to assisting with minor surgical and laser procedures.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of Ophthalmic Technician experience, COA certification (or enrolled within a year), and strong English/Spanish communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Proficiency in speaking both English and Spanish.
• Minimum of one year of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
• COA certification required or enrolled within one year and completion within two years of hire.
• Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor.
• Ability to stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Greet and communicate with patients and families in a caring, respectful manner.
• Document chief complaint and medical history for evaluations.
• Coordinate prior authorizations for medications to ensure access.
• Perform pre-exam testing and advanced diagnostic testing as ordered.
• Assist with in-office minor surgical procedures and laser treatments.
