Job summary

SightMD PA is seeking a Senior Ophthalmic Technician to support physicians with clinical and administrative duties in a busy ophthalmology practice. You will perform pre-exam testing and advanced diagnostics, scribe visits, and assist during examinations to ensure efficient patient flow.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years as an Ophthalmic Technician, strong customer service, and relevant OSC/COA certifications; rotating shifts and on-site work at multiple locations in the NY area.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
• Strong customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Skilled in problem-solving with strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in computer use across various tasks.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Engage with patients and families to ensure a positive experience.
• Review and document patient information and chief complaints.
• Coordinate prior authorizations for medications.
• Perform comprehensive pre-exam testing and advanced diagnostics.
• Scribe clinical encounters and document physician assessments in the EMR.
• Administer ocular medications and assist during examinations and procedures.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and assist with clinic operations.
