Job summary

EyeCare Partners seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists by performing initial testing and preparing patients for exams. You will handle patient interactions, document histories, and operate EMR systems with accuracy, while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Duties include dilations, refractions, visual fields and other tests, with weekend availability as needed. Strong teamwork and communication are essential for success across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• One year of related experience or training.
• COA/COT preferred but not required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient service during encounters (in person or via phone).
• Greet patients professionally and thank them when they leave.
• Anticipate physician needs to facilitate clinic flow.
• Maintain urgency regarding patient and doctor schedules.
• Comply with HIPAA and company policies.
• Verify patient information and record medical history and medications.
• Enter data into the patient EMR accurately.
• Record vital signs and assist with examinations as needed.
• Keep exam rooms stocked, clean, and organized; perform general office duties.
