AdvantageCare Physicians is seeking an ophthalmic assistant to support physicians in daily patient care, communication, and workflow within our busy New York area practices.

The role involves obtaining patient histories, conducting vision tests, scribing, transcribing dictation to the EMR, ordering lenses, educating patients on ocular conditions, and maintaining sterile ophthalmic instruments. Strong organizational and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and ophthalmic training preferred.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and ophthalmic testing equipment.
• Certification (COA/COT/CMOT) required within 12 months of hire.

Responsabilités

• Obtain patient history and document in EMR.
• Perform and record vision tests and measurements.
• Order lenses based on prescription.
• Answer patient questions during visits and by phone.
• Maintain, calibrate, clean, and sterilize ophthalmic instruments.
• Assist physicians in in-office ophthalmic procedures.
• Transcribe physician dictation into EMR as directed.
