Job summary

Duly Health and Care in Bloomingdale, IL seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to support physicians in a busy, patient-centered practice. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week role covers Bloomingdale and Glen Ellyn, with travel to Hinsdale, Naperville, and Downers Grove as needed.

You will collect patient histories, perform tests and imaging (VA, visual fields, tonometry, OCT), document in the EMR, and maintain HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or in process of getting certification.
• Must obtain COT certification within one year of employment.
• Minimum 2 years of ophthalmology/optometry experience.
• Experience with standard ophthalmic evaluation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients with respect and professionalism.
• Communicate processes and procedures during visits.
• Obtain patient history including chief complaint and medical history.
• Document accurately in the EMR.
• Perform ophthalmic tests and imaging (VA, visual fields, tonometry, OCT, etc.).
• Maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Keep exam rooms clean and instruments sterilized.
