Job summary

Duly Health and Care is seeking an Ophthalmology Technician for a full-time position in Bloomingdale and Glen Ellyn, with travel to Hinsdale, Naperville, and Downers Grove as needed. You will collect data, communicate procedures to patients, and support doctors with a range of ophthalmic tests and imaging.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in ophthalmology/optometry, a High School diploma or equivalent, and COT certification or the plan to obtain it within one year.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or in process of getting certification.
• Must obtain COT certification within one year of employment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in ophthalmology/optometry.
• Fundamental experience with standard ophthalmic evaluation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform extensive data collection functions as delegated by the physician.
• Interact with patients with respect and professionalism.
• Explain processes and procedures during visits.
• Ascertain patient needs and unusual circumstances from patient or family.
• Seek advice from senior staff or doctors when needed.
• Provide telephone support for ocular emergencies, refills, and care questions.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and complete accurate EMR documentation.
• Perform ophthalmic tests and imaging (VA, fields, tonometry, OCT, topography, etc.).
• Assist in maintaining exam rooms and sterilize instruments.
