Job summary

The Portland Clinic is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists with extended technical services. The role involves patient preparation, basic testing, equipment operation, and travel between Beaverton and South clinic locations as needed.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and current BLS certification. Previous ophthalmology experience is preferred, with competitive pay ranges for non-certified and certified technicians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Preferred ophthalmology experience.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms, document histories, take visual acuity, review medications, and perform lensometry.
• Perform ophthalmic procedures: refractometry, tonometry, keratometry, pachymetry, and pupil/angle evaluation.
• Conduct ophthalmic tests: visual field, color vision, stereopsis, amsler grid.
