Qualifications

• Current BLScertification or completion within 6 months of hire date.
• JCAHPO certification preferred or completion of Ophthalmic Medical Assisting course within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for ophthalmic exam by the ophthalmologist.
• Performs diagnostic testing such as refractor, OCT, corneal topography and pachymetry.
• Documents medical history and exam findings in EMR.
• Informs patient education as directed by care plan and explains post-exam instructions.
• Assists with minor procedures and coordinates scheduling and documentation.
