Job summary

Paycom - ATS seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to support physicians by performing diagnostic tests, taking ocular measurements, and educating patients. You will collaborate with staff to ensure accurate documentation and high-quality patient care within a clinical setting.

The role requires a high school diploma, COA certification (or plan to obtain within 12 months), strong EMR skills, and excellent communication abilities to interact with patients and families.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification or have the ability to obtain certification within 12 months of being hired; must be able to complete the Home Study Course for certification within 90 days of being hired.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with patients in a professional and courteous manner and explain clinic procedures and tests.
  • Obtain medical and family histories including ocular and systemic history.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and perform diagnostic tests.
  • Take ocular measurements and test visual functions; assist with refractions as directed.
  • Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and assist with scribing as needed.
  • Ensure accuracy of patient charts and comply with HIPAA and OSHA requirements.
