Job summary

Socket.dev's ophthalmology team is seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our friendly, patient‑centered practice. You will gather patient information, perform preliminary tests, and support surgeons during minor procedures.

We value accuracy, teamwork, and exceptional patient care. Certification such as COA is a bonus; a high school diploma is required. This position offers a sign‑on bonus and a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients, gather accurate information for diagnoses.
• Conduct preliminary ophthalmic testing including visual acuity and pupil responses.
• Administer diagnostic tests such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
• Assist ophthalmologists during minor surgeries and laser procedures.
• Manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms with clinical staff.
• Administer prescribed eye drops (Certification Required) and document administration.
• Support overall clinic efficiency with administrative tasks.

Your Impact:

• Elevate patient care: Work closely with our ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
• Master ophthalmic testing: Conduct thorough preliminary examinations, including visual acuity, pupillary responses, and more.
• Perform advanced diagnostics: Administer a range of diagnostic tests, such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
• Assist in surgical procedures: Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
• Streamline patient flow: Efficiently manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborating with clinical staff.
• Administer eye drops: (Certification Required)
• Contribute to clinic efficiency: Perform clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and organized workflow.
