Job summary

ReFocus Eye Health in Hyattsville, MD is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing ophthalmology team. You will collect patient histories, perform preliminary testing, and support surgeons during procedures in a fast-paced clinic environment.

The role requires attention to detail, excellent communication, and a commitment to compassionate patient care. Travel to two additional locations is required, with a schedule Monday through Friday and rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Ophthalmic Technician.
• Knowledge of medical office procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Certification in ophthalmic assisting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gather comprehensive patient information with ophthalmologists for accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
• Conduct preliminary ophthalmic testing (visual acuity, pupillary responses, etc.).
• Administer a range of diagnostic tests (OCT, perimetry, ophthalmic photography).
• Assist ophthalmologists during minor surgeries and laser procedures.
• Streamline patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms with clinical staff.

Mon - Fri 8:00 AM 5:00 PM. Rotating Saturday's.

Travel Needed to two additional locations.

Your Impact:

• Elevate patient care: Work closely with our ophthalmologists to gather comprehensive patient information, ensuring accurate diagnoses and personalized treatment plans.
• Master ophthalmic testing: Conduct thorough preliminary examinations, including visual acuity, pupillary responses, and more.
• Perform advanced diagnostics: Administer a range of diagnostic tests, such as OCT, perimetry, and ophthalmic photography.
• Assist in surgical procedures: Support ophthalmologists during minor surgeries, laser procedures, and crosslinking.
• Streamline patient flow: Efficiently manage patient flow in clinic and imaging rooms, collaborating with clinical staff.
• Administer eye drops: (Certification Required)
• Contribute to clinic efficiency: Perform clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and organized workflow.
