Job summary

6AM City, LLC is hiring an Ophthalmic Technician to join our patient-focused ophthalmology practice. We seek a compassionate, detail-oriented team member who enjoys working with people and delivering exceptional patient care.

This full-time role (Monday–Friday) involves welcoming patients, taking histories, measuring visual acuity, performing tests (OCT, visual fields, fundus photography), assisting the physician, and documenting findings in Epic.

Qualifications

  • Previous ophthalmic experience preferred but not required—we are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Certification (COA, COT, or COMT) is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer and EMR proficiency.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain medical and ocular histories.
  • Measure visual acuity and perform preliminary testing.
  • Perform diagnostic testing, including OCT, Visual Fields, Fundus Photography, refraction, and intraocular pressure (if trained).
  • Assist physician with examinations and minor procedures.
  • Administer eye drops and provide patient education.
  • Document findings accurately in the electronic medical record (Epic).
  • Maintain examination rooms and ophthalmic equipment clean and organized.
