Job summary

Sentara Healthcare Inc. seeks a Flexi/PRN Ophthalmic Tech to support diagnostic and treatment procedures for ophthalmic diseases at the Eye Center. You will coordinate patient care with the Eye Center staff, assist residents, and manage clinics as assigned.

Requirements include trade school graduation as Ophthalmic Technologist, BLS (AHA RQI) and COT certification, with at least 1 year ophthalmic experience. This is a flexible, PRN opportunity based in Norfolk, VA.

Qualifications

• Trade school graduate in ophthalmic technology.
• BLS certification by American Heart Association (AHA) RQI.
• Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification by IJCAHPO.

Flexi/PRN Ophthalmic Tech

As an Ophthalmic Tech with Sentara, you will be responsible for the performance of procedures for the diagnostic and treatment of ophthalmic disease. With the Manager of the Eye Center for Sight, the Technician/Technologist will coordinate patient care to meet the expectations of the patients and staff. Along with the completion of technical procedures, the Technician/Technologist will manage clinics as assigned. Responsible for providing assistance to the Eye Center staff and Ophthalmology residents.

Education

Trade School Graduate- Ophthalmic Technologist

Certification / Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI
• Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) - Certification - IJCAHPO (International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology)

Experience

1 year of ophthalmic experience required.
