Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant Team Lead to support the Clinic Manager in supervising assistants and technicians and to generate essential preliminary information for physicians. You will review patient status and perform tests under physician direction.

Responsibilities include welcoming patients, performing ophthalmic diagnostics, and aiding in staff scheduling and audits while ensuring efficient patient flow. Travel to adjacent sites may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• COA or COT certification a plus.
• At least 1 year of ophthalmic assistant/technician experience.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Detail oriented; able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible schedule: Monday–Friday.
• Ability to travel to Chino Valley and Prescott Valley locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients with a warm, professional disposition and reviews patient history in EHR.
• Performs ophthalmic tests: visual acuity, auto-refraction, tonometry, keratometry and related tech.
• Scribes for providers to improve clinic flow and documentation.
• Assists with scheduling back office staff and maintains patient flow.
• Meets with Clinic Manager to discuss operational needs and staff development.
• Performs quarterly chart audits and supports corrective action plans.
• Monitors provider schedules and assists with policy adherence.
• Maintains exam rooms and ensures clean/sterile conditions.
