Job summary

LensCrafters, part of EssilorLuxottica, seeks an Ophthalmic Surgical Tech for the Exton Surgical Clinic. On surgery days, you handle instruments, supplies, and equipment during procedures, anticipate the surgeon’s needs, and ensure sterile technique.

On non-surgery days, you support in general preparation, administration, and other duties. A medical/optical background, high school diploma, strong math, and excellent English are required; state licensure or COT/COE certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedure.
• Checks chart for consent, H&P, and documentation of pre-op medication and allergies.
• Scrubs, gowns, and gloves.
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedure.
• Checks for accuracy of implant order and ensures implant availability.
• Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants.
• Helps in draping sterile field.
• Passes instruments, etc., to surgeon during procedure.
• Maintains highest standard of sterile technique during procedure.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for sterilization.
• Assists other members of team with terminal cleaning of room.
• Utilizes proper aseptic techniques in prepping room for the next patient.
