Job summary

The University of Miami Bascom Palmer Eye Institute is seeking an experienced Manager of Ophthalmic Service (Retina Neuro) to lead administrative operations in a fast-paced clinical setting. You will supervise staff, develop SOPs, and drive data-driven improvements in patient care and service quality.

You will analyze clinical data, prepare leadership reports, and oversee scheduling, staffing, and coordination across onsite and virtual services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent preferred (required within 1 year of hire).
• Experience in leadership within a clinical setting and coordinating patient care activities.
• Experience with an electronic medical record system (Epic preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative oversight and staff coordination for assigned ophthalmic specialties and projects.
• Directly supervise support staff to maintain provider support and patient care coordination.
• Develop SOPs and training materials for department functions and ensure adoption by staff.
• Analyze data and prepare reports/ dashboards to monitor provider productivity and patient flow.
• Lead process improvements to optimize scheduling, patient access, and service delivery.
• Coordinate onboarding of faculty, residents, and attending providers; manage schedules and space allocation.
