Job summary

Spectrum Vision Partners / OCLI Vision is seeking a patient-focused Ophthalmic Scribe/Tech - Level 1 to support physicians in delivering high-quality eye care in Stamford, CT. You will assist with patient intake, routine ophthalmic testing, and real-time documentation in the EMR.

You will work closely with physicians and the clinical team to maintain accurate records, efficient patient flow, and a positive patient experience while cross-training in scribe and technician duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with EMR/EHR applications preferred; NextGen is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of ocular terminology preferred.
• Customer service or medical experience preferred.
• Strong documentation, typing, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment and cross-train in scribe and technician duties.
• Completion of the Ophthalmic Scribe-Tech Level 1 competency checklist within 90 days of hire is required.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identity and prepare patients for examinations; document histories, medications, and allergies.
• Conduct routine ophthalmic testing and assist with examinations and minor procedures.
• Record provider interactions, diagnoses, treatments, prescriptions, and instructions in the EMR in real-time.
• Track testing, medications, and follow-up orders; maintain complete patient records.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies; follow infection prevention protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and staff to support safe, efficient, patient-centered care.
