Fraser Eye Care is seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Scribe to support clinicians with accurate EMR documentation and patient flow in our Fraser, MI location. The role balances administrative and clinical tasks to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, strong typing and medical terminology skills, and experience with EMR systems. CMA certification preferred, with a collaborative, patient-first approach.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED and medical terminology knowledge.
• Experience as a medical assistant is preferred (2 years).
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
• Proficient in medical terminology and documentation.
• Experience with EMR and practice management software is preferred.
• Strong typing skills and attention to detail are required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support patients and team.
• Reliable and collaborative team member ready for weekly meetings.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and guide them to exam rooms.
• Assist optometrists/ophthalmologists during exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Transcribe medical information accurately into the EMR.
• Enter medications, lab orders, and refills as directed.
• Maintain clean, organized patient areas.
• Answer patient questions and assist with forms and inquiries.
• Collaborate with medical and administrative teams for smooth operations.
