Job summary

Ophthalmic Scribes support our providers and patients by joining physicians during exams, documenting real-time interactions, and assisting with testing and procedures at a Richmond Hill clinic. This full-time role offers exposure to a wide range of ophthalmic assessments and patient care activities.

You’ll prepare charts, document accurately, track orders, and educate patients on tests and medications while contributing to a collaborative care team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Outgoing, dependable, and service-oriented.
• Calm under pressure and adaptable to change.
• Positive team player with a can-do attitude.
• Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 10 lbs.
• Ocular pharmacology knowledge is a plus (not required).

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient charts/EMRs and exam rooms.
• Accurately document physician-patient interactions.
• Track orders, prescriptions, and testing.
• Perform ophthalmic testing & work up (visual acuity, tonometry, dilation, OCT, VF, etc.).
• Educate patients on procedures, testing, and prescriptions.
• Audit charts for accuracy.
• Provide exceptional patient care and service.
