Job summary

Eye Consultants of Atlanta PC is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe to support physicians by documenting patient histories and exam findings in the electronic medical record. The scribe accompanies the physician into the exam room to accurately transcribe information provided by the patient and the physician.

The role includes recording impressions, plans, test results, prescriptions, and orders, and documenting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician with documentation of the patient's electronic medical record.
• Accompany physician into the exam room to transcribe the history and examination as given by the patient and the physician.
• Transcribe the impression and plan, results of tests, prescriptions, and orders.
• Document any procedures that may be performed by the physician or ophthalmic medical personnel.
• Transcribe any consultations or discussions with family members.
• The scribe does not usually directly assist with patient care, but may do so as directed by the physician.
• They may also be called upon to answer triage calls, enter patient data etc.
