Job summary

Eye Physicians of Central Florida, a Division of Florida Pediatric Associates, is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe to support providers by documenting patient encounters, procedures, and treatment plans in the EMR. This role emphasizes accurate charting, efficient workflows, and collaboration within a patient-focused team.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, ophthalmic scribe certification (OSC) preferred, and at least one year of ophthalmic scribe experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) is preferred.
• One year of Ophthalmic Scribe experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Accompany practitioners during patient visits to document medical histories, exams, and treatment plans in the EMR.
• Accurately document procedures, diagnostic results, and physician instructions.
• Assist with chart preparation prior to patient visits and ensure relevant information is available.
• Assist practitioners with administrative tasks such as completing forms, referrals, and prescriptions.
• Communicate effectively with clinical and administrative staff.
• Escort patients from exam rooms to checkout areas.
• Seek guidance from senior staff when necessary and work within training scope.
