Job summary

Ascend Vision Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe (Certified or Non-Certified) to support eye care providers by documenting patient encounters in real time, capturing medical history, findings, and treatment plans to improve clinic efficiency and accuracy.

The role may also involve cross-training as a technician to ensure patient needs are met, with duties spanning history taking, EMR data entry, and preparation for ophthalmology examinations under physicians' guidance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as a scribe or in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Able to document patient information accurately in real time.

Responsibilities

• Accurately document patient history and findings in real time.
• Enter and update patient information in the EMR system.
• Perform ophthalmic history and preliminary exams and coordinate tests.
• Assist with patient communication and clarify information as needed.
• Prepare patients for examinations and coordinate with the healthcare team.
• Maintain patient records and confidentiality.
