EyeCare Partners LLC is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe to join our Ophthalmology team in Hampton, VA. The role supports physicians by documenting visits, managing EMR records, and aiding in clinic operations. Travel to nearby offices (Norfolk, Suffolk, Virginia Beach) is required, with mileage reimbursement provided.

Starting pay ranges from $18 to $21 per hour DOE. Responsibilities include accurate coding, patient flow management, and adherence to HIPAA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) preferred, but not required.
• Proficient EMR and image management system.
• Excellent typing, spelling, grammar and oral communication skills.
• HIPAA confidentiality and patient privacy standards.

Responsabilités

• Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as performed by the Physician.
• Manage operation of the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for patients.
• Understand examination and procedure codes (ICD-9) when inputting into EMR.
• Ensure accurate procedure coding/charges and correct diagnosis codes.
• Anticipate Physician needs to facilitate clinic flow.
• Open and close exam rooms as needed.
• Assist with testing and maintain patient flow throughout the clinic.
• Be discreet, tactful, and professional in performance of duties.
• Travel between offices as required.
