Job summary

Midwest Vision Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe to support physician dictation, perform chair-side assistance, and document patient encounters in the EMR. The role requires traveling to Medina and Wadsworth locations and joining a fast-paced eye care team.

You will handle patient exams, document histories, and assist with in-office procedures while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
• Efficient computer skills and ability to type 40+ words per minute.
• Entry level with typical 0-3 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Bring patients to and from exam rooms.
• Perform detailed documentation of patient work ups in EMR.
• Complete patient encounter form based on diagnosis.
• Apply eye drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes.
• Provide chair-side physician assistance and administer treatment as ordered.
• Review care instructions with patients.
• Complete a detailed patient history including past medical history and chief complaint.
• Check visual acuity including far/near and peripheral vision.
• Examine eyes for abnormalities and perform in-office tests (A-scan, B-scan, fundus photography, etc.).
• Measures intraocular pressure and read eyeglass prescriptions with lensometer.
• Prep exam rooms and maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Demonstrate eye anatomy knowledge and stay current with technologies.
