Midwest Vision Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe to work alongside physicians, documenting patient workups and providing chair-side assistance during minor in-office procedures. Schedule includes Mon, Thu, Fri 8:00 AM–5:00 PM; Tue 8–6; Wed 8–7. No weekends.

You may rotate between Medina Reserve and Wadsworth locations and cover rotating evening hours across offices. Responsibilities include transporting patients, detailed EMR documentation, patient history, ocular exams, and tests such as

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a motor vehicle.
• Efficient computer skills and ability to type 40+ words per minute.

Responsabilités

• Bring patients to and from exam rooms.
• Perform detailed documentation of patient work ups and OD/MD comments in patient's electronic medical record.
• Complete patient encounter form based on determined diagnosis.
• Apply drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes.
• Provide chair-side physician assistance and administer treatment as allowed and ordered by the physician.
• Review care instructions with patients.
• Complete a detailed patient history including past medical history, family medical history and chief complaint.
• Check patient's visual acuity including far, near, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception.
• Examine eyes for abnormalities.
• Perform tests and measurements including A-scans, B-scans, fundus photography, corneal topography, HRTII and pachymetry.
• Measures intraocular pressure (glaucoma test).
• Read eyeglass prescriptions with automated lensometry.
• Prep exam rooms for treatment.
• Maintain patient confidentiality following HIPAA regulations.
• Demonstrate knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, symptoms & ocular medications.
