Job summary

EyeCare Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic Pre-Tester in Norfolk, VA, with travel to Virginia Beach, Suffolk, and Hampton. You will support ophthalmologists by performing initial testing and preparing patients for exams, while ensuring high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include patient data entry, EMR documentation, and assisting with diagnostic tests such as visual fields and OCT. Travel and mileage are reimbursed; pay ranges $18–$19 per hour DOE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent.
• COA/COT certification preferred but not required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook; EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient service during every encounter (in person or via phone).
• Greet patients professionally and manage clinic flow.
• Record patient data in EMR and maintain accuracy of records.
• Perform diagnostic tests (dilation, refraction, pressures, visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL Master, auto refractor, topography).
• Prepare patients for exams and assist Ophthalmologist during visits.
