Job summary

Ophthalmology Associates seeks a Pre-Test Technician to support ophthalmologists by performing initial tests and preparing patients for exams. The role emphasizes patient care, data entry in EMR, and efficient clinic flow.

On-site, full-time position with benefits and a commitments to extended hours when needed. The technician will handle vision testing equipment, record histories, and assist with a variety of diagnostic procedures while maintaining a courteous, professional demeanor and HIPAA

• Strong communication and coordination with team at all times
• Organizational skills with focus on patient care and flow
• Desire to gain ophthalmic industry knowledge and training
• Commitment to working over 40 hours when needed

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service during patient encounters
• Greet patients warmly and thank them as they leave
• Prioritize patient and doctor time and schedules with urgency
• Comply with company policies and HIPAA
• Verify patient information by interviewing patients
• Record medical history and reason for visit in EMR
• Document data in the patient’s EMR and medical records
• Assist in testing to prepare patients for exams
• Demonstrate knowledge of eye anatomy and diseases
• Maintain safety policies and high-quality service
• Perform other duties as needed
