Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide competent peri-operative nursing care in an Ambulatory Surgery Center setting, with a focus on ophthalmology. The role emphasizes patient safety, strong communication, and advocacy across pre-op, intra-op, and PACU phases.

Requirements include a minimum of 2 years in an OR, current RN license, BCLS, ACLS and PALS certifications, and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an operating room setting; ophthalmology preferred.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment or appropriate compact licensure.
• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Valid BCLS, ACLS & PALS Certifications required upon employment (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive pre-operative patient assessments and verifies consents, H&P, orders, and time-out procedures.
• Acts as circulating nurse during surgical procedures; coordinates room activities and anticipates surgeon/anesthesia needs.
• Prepares and administers medications safely and per physician orders.
• Collaborates with anesthesia during induction and emergencies; responds to changes in patient condition.
• Provides PACU care including airway management, monitoring vitals, pain control, and anesthesia recovery.
• Ensures accurate documentation throughout all phases of care.
• Delivers effective hand-off reports during transitions pre-op, OR, and PACU.
• Upholds safety protocols and body mechanics for patient/staff safety.
• Performs nursing duties as assigned.
