Job summary

Atlantic Eye seeks a compassionate Medical Assistant to support pre-operative and post-operative patient care in a fast-paced Ambulatory Surgery Center. Under RN supervision, you will assist with admissions, prepare patients for surgery, and help discharge them, while protecting HIPAA privacy and maintaining safety.

Responsibilities include vital signs, IV management, ASC supply coordination, and proactive patient communication.

Qualifications

• Experience in ophthalmology, surgical ASC, or healthcare setting preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain.
• Phlebotomy skills a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient admission, preparation, and discharge.
• Verify patient identification and maintain HIPAA compliance and patient privacy.
• Provide compassionate patient support and ensure patient safety.
• Obtain and monitor vital signs and report changes to the DON or RN.
• Obtain and remove IVs as directed and within scope and training.
