Job summary

Center for Advanced Surgical Arts in Wilmington, Delaware seeks an Ophthalmic Surgical Assistant to join a fast-paced surgical team.

The role requires COA/COT/COMT certification, ambulatory surgery center experience preferred, and a commitment to sterile technique and patient care. Monday–Friday daytime schedule with no nights or weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be certified at a core level (COA, COT, or COMT).
• Certification as an Ophthalmic Surgical Assistant preferred or willing to obtain after on-the-job training.
• Experience in ophthalmology/ophthalmic surgical settings preferred.
• Experience in ASCs or ORs preferred.
• Knowledge of ophthalmic procedures, equipment, and terminology.
• Understanding of sterile technique and infection-control practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and flow of ophthalmic surgical cases.
• Prepare operating rooms and procedure areas for surgery.
• Assist with patient positioning and preparation.
• Assist the surgical team during cataract and other ophthalmic procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection-prevention practices.
• Assist with room turnover and preparation between cases.
• Clean and prepare surgical equipment and instrumentation.
• Assist with instrument processing and sterilization as needed.
• Maintain inventory and identify needed supplies.
• Follow ASC policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
