Job summary

Associated Retina Consultants in Casa Grande, AZ is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician for a part-time position (with potential full-time year-round duties). You will perform the preliminary work-up, assist physicians during exams, and document encounters in the EMR.

Responsibilities include interviewing patients, conducting OCT, tonometry, visual acuity tests, maintaining exam rooms, and ensuring equipment is clean and stocked. English proficiency is required; bilingual preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and ophthalmic certification (OSC, CAAO or equivalent) preferred or willing to obtain within 30 days.
• Must read, write, and speak English effectively.
• Ability to work with culturally diverse people and maintain professional communication.
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the doctor in patient care promptly and professionally.
• Interview patients and document histories and testing in EMR.
• Explain follow-up care, surgery scheduling, and clinic changes to patients.
• Maintain and clean equipment; report irregularities to supervisor.
• Instill eye drops and stock exam rooms; check medication expirations.
• Attend staff meetings; travel to other ARC locations may be required.
