Job summary

Florida Eye Specialists in the Jacksonville area is seeking an Ophthalmic Tester to support eye care services. The role involves performing initial testing using OCT, anterior segment photography, visual field, and fundus imaging to prepare patients for exams.

The position requires excellent verbal and written communication, strong organization, and the ability to multi-task in a busy clinical environment; travel between offices is possible and a 90-day probation applies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum one year in medical practice or hospital setting preferred.
• Experience in ophthalmology practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete all testing for OCT, anterior segment photography, Visual Field, Fundus photography.
• Upload results of imaging and testing.
• Scan and file documents, prior authorizations into patient charts.
• Verify letters (Diabetes, Plaquenil, Referral, etc.) have been sent to the appropriate doctor from the previous day, or send it if not.
• Call for labs (Quest) when needed when scribe is unavailable.
• Recalls in-between patients and downtime.
• Interact with all patients with respect and professionalism.
• Comply with HIPAA confidentiality standards when accessing or communicating patient information.
