Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's preferred.
  • OA-I experience: 0–2 years; OA-II: 2+ years in ophthalmic assisting.
  • Ability to perform OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry.
  • Detail-oriented with strong patient care and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Review charts for completeness and accuracy.
  • Take ocular and systemic history and record acuity.
  • Perform tests per exam: OCT, fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry.
  • Scribe data into EMR or paper charts as needed.
  • Administer medications and assist with consent and education.
