Qualifications

  • Education: High School Graduate or GED; Bachelor's preferred.
  • OA1 Experience: 0-2 years ophthalmic assistant experience.
  • OAII Experience: 2+ years ophthalmic assistant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
  • Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
  • Perform required testing including OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry and biometry.
  • Scribe during physician exams and enter data into EMR.
  • Administer topical or oral medications.
  • Assist with patient education and ensuring consent.
  • Manage patient flow and maintain exam room cleanliness.
  • Adhere to procedures, regulations and reporting requirements.
